Welcome to a blog that tackles the physical, psychological and spiritual issues around depression

A Change of Focus

In the Beginning

I started this blog with the intention of discussing depression from a personal perspective. My hope was to encourage people who are struggling with this illness to find hope, help and healing in an online community. I have struggled for most of my life with depression, and I believe that I can use my experiences to help others with the same problem.

However, the articles began taking on a different flavor. They have been focused on another area of interest to me - Personal Growth and Development. It was the study of personal growth and self-improvement that led me through a number of dark times as I have dealt with depression. For me, depression and self-improvement are closely related. But in reality, the needs of the two communities are quite a bit different. I fear that by trying to combine both into a single blog, I am not effectively serving anyone.

Where From Here?

I am working on launching a new blog focused on the issues of depression. It will address the medical, social, physical, psychological and spiritual aspects of dealing with this mental illness. When it is ready, I will announce it here so that anyone who is interested can check it out. Win Your Mind will refocus on the world of self-improvement. Book reviews, links to valuable resources and original discussion of important issues will be on the menu here. There is a huge world of content already on the web dealing with this issue, and I feel like I am adding one drop of water to the ocean. But I also believe that my unique story and perspective will bring value to the discussion.

So now I will have 2 blogs to keep up. My goal is 2 articles each week on each site. Oftentimes, the content will be similar, but tailored for the mission of the specific blog. I hope readers will find each website more valuable because of the focus and intent to serve.
