Not much on my mind right now, but it is not important. I have just been letting everything happen without me. I just do not have anything to say right now.

I see that you have posted this response all over the place, so you must be pretty bitter. All I can say, without knowing the specifics, is that I am sorry you feel that you were cheated.

The situation between you and Mr. Burger does nothing to diminish the value of his work, and the compassion he displayed. I still believe his story is worthy of our attention and consideration. Sainthood isn't required of those who do good deeds, just a willingness to act.

Instead of praising Brent Burger for all he has done, how about recognizing the people he left high and dry with a $800 electric bill who were kind enough to contact him and offer to rent their home to him for Karen and her family during the whole process. He is praised as a saint the gave thousands of dollars to help this family but he is nothing but a crook who doesn't pay his bills to those who tried to help him help them.

Hey Albert,

Thanks for the kind words. I wish it were easy to get people to realize that they weren't born in mediocrity. When people get stuck with that lie, they just get stuck in life. My big question is - is it our job to help them out, or just to help ourselves out? And if it is our job to help them out, how far do we go in the pursuit?

Very nice Quint!

By the very fact that we were born, we were not mediocre. It's the biggest lie that we are!

Cheers,

Hi Bart,

Thank you for your encouragement. Mental illness is hard to understand, and unfortunately still heavily stigmatized. I think if more people were willing to just admit that they didn't understand instead of reacting with fear, those who suffer with a mental illness would feel more free to seek help.

I respect and appreciate your forthright candor. Mental illness is a very difficult thing and very poorly understood by most people, including me. I have lived and spent some time with several people who have had depression, multiple personality disorder or OCD. The bright candle flame that has struggled to come out of your darkness really comes through in your writing. Thanks,
